July's Capricorn full Moon falls on July 12 and it is the first of three super moons - which means that the Moon is at it's closest approach to earth - it will be at perigee. Learn more about this here. With the Moon in Capricorn and the Sun in Cancer, this lunation is likely to bring up issues to do with home, finances, security, safety, spending, saving, investing, and probably in the light of the economy in the world at the moment, budgeting so that you can maintain it all. The main thrust of this full Moon is knowing how to work with others, when to 'pass on the baton' and when to run your own race. It's also about listening to your intuition, your inner voice, or, perhaps those messages that keep trying to make their way into your consciousness.

The full Moon is on Capricorn 21: A Relay Race

‘A Relay Race’ is an image of people working together as a team. They are endeavoring to finish a ‘Race’ and to win a victory, often for some higher cause other than their own personal glory. This can be for their school, their work, nation or ideals. As this is a ‘Relay Race’, they take turns running and pass the baton to another when the moment is right.

In amongst what is going on, you may sense that the end is in sight and victory achievable, but you’ll probably realize that you are only one member of a team, with your own special task to perform. A level of trust is required when you work with a team. It is vital that everyone gives their best and doesn’t hold back. If someone endeavors to run the whole race by them-self, even if they think it’s the right thing to do, it can be seen as a form of selfishness where everything is put at risk because of the inability to share or act cooperatively. The aim of each should be for the team to reach the finish line, or the goal, regardless of individual performances. In fact, it may almost be impossible to complete the course on your own. For the best results, people should work together in this situation, each taking their turn and their due rewards. Criticism should be kept to a minimum. As long as each member of the team has tried his or her best it is unwise to compare. You may not be the one who actually crosses the “finish line”, but you will, eventually, share in the glory of the group effort. If you don’t know where the “finish line” is, it can lead to confusion as you just keep running (or going for it), with no end in sight. The interconnectedness of people in a shared endeavor leads to the task being achieved. Just be watchful for when you should both take and pass the responsibility.

Keywords: Shared endeavor. Knowing when to hand on responsibilities. Teamwork. Knowing when to finish. Encouragement and trust. Sharing and cooperation. Inheritances. Timing. Being competitive. Taking turns. Handing on responsibilities. Split second timing. Hand-eye coordination. Having an on-off switch.

The Caution: Not letting go of control to another . Feeling defeated through feeling that you don’t have the necessary resources to win. Criticism and competitiveness. Acting for one’s best interests. Competitiveness in inter-reactions and conversation. Butting in when others are talking. Expecting others to do all the work or carry responsibilities. Not sharing the glory or the rewards.

The Karmic Condition (the degree before) this full Moon is Capricorn 20: A Hidden Choir Singing During A Religious Service. When this degree Symbol is around, we often have messages coming to (or from) us. The important thing is to know what to listen to and what to let pass by. Not everything that one hears or learns is important and it can be very useful to know how to sift out the wheat from the chaff. People often find their clairaudient, clairvoyant, intuitive selves tuning up and tuning in more and more.

Of course the music is a great difficulty. You see, if one plays good music, people don't listen, and if one plays bad music people don't talk. Oscar Wilde

Keywords: Background messages. Voices not heard or noticed before. Men, women and the church. Sensitivity to messages of spirituality. Speaking about things behind closed doors. Voices from “nowhere”. Melodies from the past. Choirs, organs and organ music. Channeled voices. Songs, sheet music. Hidden speakers. Clairvoyance.

The Caution: Taking undue credit for group qualities. Keeping the feminine aspect out of the picture. Discriminating against people as not being “spiritual” or finding that some just plain aren’t! Background voices telling people how they should live. Using hidden messages to manipulate people, sometimes through guilt. Gossip. Messages that don’t sense. Being afraid to sing.

The Quest Degree (the degree after) this full Moon is Capricorn 22: A General Revealing Nobility Of Character By Accepting Defeat Gracefully. Knowing when to let go and let God can be tricky, but it can turn situations into winning instead of losing scenarios. If you're continually battling to get something done in the face of overwhelming odds, it could be that fate, kismet or karma could have different plans. This degree asks that we assess when it's worth continuing and when it's better to slow down and let situations go, or, at least, let things lie for a while as the details sort themselves out. We can be surprised by the calm we feel when we're no longer struggling or indulging in 'the war' and we can find peace in our souls as we start breathing again and just let it go. Not everything is a defeat now, there could be amazing rewards coming, and not too long down the road.

Failure is nature's plan to prepare you for great responsibilities. Napoleon

There are some defeats more triumphant than victories. Michel de Montaigne

Keywords: True inner worth. Being a “good loser”. Learning that every minor skirmish in life is not a major ‘Defeat’. Being prepared to start again. Sacrificing things for the benefit of others. Nobility of character. Letting go of the “charge” around anger. Surrendering.

The Caution: Being a “bad loser”. Feeling everything is going to come out badly. Reliance on self-limitations. Seeing the negative in everything. Losing what’s been worked for. Making excuses to get out of tight situations. Betrayal and loss. Loss of support. Surrendering too early. Giving up on life.

The Sabian Symbol for the Sun is Cancer 21: A Prima Donna Singing. I have a feeling that there will be quite a few voices vying for attention around this full Moon. Who is taking centre stage when perhaps it's better to be working together? Who is wanting more than their fair share of attention? Is someone thinking more of their own needs than those of others?

On the flip side, who is deserving of listening to? Giving a round of applause perhaps... letting them have center stage so they can show their talents?

I sometimes wonder which would be nicer - an opera without an interval, or an interval without an opera. Ernest Newman

Keywords: Having a powerful voice. Emotional dramatizations. Talent. Taking center stage. Messages that need to be heard for social reasons. Playing out the myths of society. Makeup, hairstyles, wigs and costumes. Feeling important and special. Singing and performing. Opera and drama. Fame and fortune. Charisma and presence. Commanding attention. Having control and good timing. Flowers or brickbats. Years and years of training or improvising on the spot.

The Caution: Overplaying one’s role. Displaying noisily. Driving people to distraction. Refusing to keep quiet. Demanding to be heard. Wanting everyone to listen. Overreacting. Throwing tantrums. Not knowing when to stop. Passions worn on the sleeve. Showing off.

Saturn, the ruler of this full Moon, is on Scorpio 17: A Woman The Father Of Her Own Child. With Saturn here, especially as it's the ruler of the full Moon whose message is to play together as a team, we could find that, in reality, we are left to our own devices when we'd like to be able to share our lives with others. We can feel unsupported, unloved, unappreciated or like the world is on our shoulders. The flip side to this is the sense of being self-sufficient and having the freedom to call our own shots. Issues of children and parenthood and being protected can come up. Memories from out of the past can come up now, especially if you've been deserted by those who haven't perhaps lived up to their responsibilities.

This full Moon is bringing up that fine line between doing things by yourself and working as a team with others. We don't always have others on our team, sometimes it's just us that are at the front line without the help or support of significant others. Still, we don't tend to live in a vacuum and there are always others to consider.

If one is not going to take the necessary precautions to avoid having parents, one must undertake to bring them up. Quentin Crisp

Keywords: Single parenthood. Being proud of one’s individuality. Feeling capable of anything. Spiritual experiences that fill one with one’s own spirit. Self-reliance. The lack of a father figure. Invitro fertilization. The complications of adoption. Self sufficiency. Facing the world feeling whole. Having the right to determine one’s future. The story of the conception of Jesus.

The Caution: Uncompromising feminism or chauvinism. Feeling like one has to be responsible for everything. Unrealistic independence. Being left alone and abandoned. Having no one to turn to for support. Being an adult before one’s time.

Mercury is on Gemini 30: A Parade Of Beach Beauties Before Large Beach Crowds. This can bring about the feeling of being appreciated for superficial reasons, being on show, being judged by others, or, perhaps, wanting to bare all so others can see who we truly are without the things that cover up our true selves. The trick is to not feel discarded if you feel that you don't measure up. It's a good thing to not judge others, either, as things are changing rather quickly and what looked good one day may not the next.

That which is striking and beautiful is not always good; but that which is good is always beautiful. Ninon De L'Enclos

Keywords: Being on show. Sheer attraction of beauty. Seeking praise. Displaying all that
one has in order to get people to observe and/or evaluate. Beauty pageants. Bathing costumes and skimpy clothing. Beaches. Lifeguards. Beauty judges. Nudist beaches. Breast sizes. The mysteries of the feminine. Playing dress ups. Gatherings of goddesses. Mermaids converging. The water element. Recognizing superficiality and shallow behavior. Water nymphs.

The Caution: Using superficiality to win support. Giving importance to the issues of appearance and neglecting the “beauty within”. Too much makeup. Flaunting one’s body and not employing intellect. Lack of water. Leering, jeering. Lusting after the unattainable. Feeling like merchandise. Making superficial judgments.

Venus is on Gemini 23: Three Fledglings In A Nest High Up In A Tree. This Symbol often brings up issues to do with living together, getting along and sharing spaces, along with sharing food, oxygen and resources. Sometimes 'fledglings' fight for space and the desire to win at the other's expense. Getting along with neighbours can prove to be tricky if people are self centered and not sharing the space or the responsibilities for that space. Venus is trining Mars this week, that is a good thing and it can bring about new relationships, a renewed commitment in relationships, a revved up sense of attraction to others or that othes are attracted to you. This is particularly great as the Moon's north node (a rather 'karmic' point - although all planets are karmic - it does bring in a sense of destiny with it) is also in aspect, conjunct with Mars, trining Venus.

Keywords: Discovering a whole new sense of being. Teaching. Safety. Living in small spaces. Wanting room to move. Privacy. Staying in the ‘Nest’ versus leaving it. Resisting change. Providing room and board for others. Sharing flats and houses. The battle for survival. Being different, therefore breaking the mold. Brothers and sisters. Expecting to be looked after and fed. Growing spirituality. The desire to spread your wings. Sibling rivalry.

The Caution: Wanting to leave home before one’s ready. Wondering if one’s needs will be met. Arguments about the pecking order. Psychological immaturity. Feeling dependent on external influences for survival. Feeling trapped by circumstance. Insecurity. Feeling exposed to danger. Co dependence. Not knowing or realizing one’s place. Falling out. Bickering over space.

Mars is on Libra 24: A Third Wing On The Left Side Of A Butterfly. The trick with Mars here is to maintain balance in amongst the desire to be free, to fly off and to, as with Venus, spread one's wings. Imbalances can occur if we try to do things too soon, particularly if we're keen to get going with something before we're really ready. Venus' message is to stay in the safety of the 'known', at least for a little while longer, and it seems that Mars' message is similar as flapping around can cause a ruckus and a lot of dust, rather than the desired result of taking off and flying to one's preferred destination. This does not have to mean that we are stuck in a situation - it seems to imply the need for centering and stilling ourselves so we can be ready for the moment that we are set to fly.

Keywords: Creative overbalance. Bodily impairments and handicaps. Being light, flippant and fluttering from thing to thing. Over-sensitivities. Oddities. Beautiful imperfections. Idiot savants. Imbalances. One side of the body being more perfect than the other. Wings, arms, legs, feet.

The Caution: Unrealistic reliance on being different. Obsession with strange things. Feeling useless and out of place. Flapping around and not getting anywhere. Restlessness and nervousness. Lopsidedness. Impatience.

Jupiter is on Cancer 30: A Daughter Of The American Revolution. What is it that's been fought for and won? And for what reason? And is there a reason to stay with tradition or should we be fighting for new ideals? Jupiter is set to move into Leo, ushering in a new time which could signify the need for more fun, freedom and creativity.

Dear Mr. President, There are too many states nowadays. Please eliminate three. P.S. I am not a crackpot. Abraham Simpson

Keywords: Being bound by social conditioning OR leading the charge to break down the barriers of tradition. Putting in the time to change social conditions for the betterment of all. The feminist movement. Sacrificing personal conviction to ambition. Sacrificing philosophy to a relationship that builds the ego. Inherited values. Being the rebel in the family.

The Caution: Supporting battles that have already been fought. False feelings of superiority. Having to be “in the club” to be accepted as belonging. Narrow-minded conservatism. Glorifying the past. Relying on the old traditions that were, in their day, radical and transforming. Rejecting one’s inheritance.

Uranus is on Aries 17: Two Prim Spinsters Sitting Together In Silence. Spending time with those who know and understand you can be very rewarding, but perhaps it's time to really open up and speak from the heart. It could be rewarding to get to know others better and deeper, especially if you've spent a lot of time by yourself lately. Conversely, there may be a need for silence, for taking things in, digesting what's going on. It could also be time for turning a somewhat 'blind-eye' to the ills and horrors of the world. The 'prim spinsters' tend not to watch the news and squabble about political matters; they can be meditative as they 'spin' at the spinning wheel of life. The trick here, especially with Uranus, is knowing when to open up and talk and share and when to keep quiet or mum about what's going on. Events tend to move quickly and what you may have felt the need to divulge may not seem so serious in the light of another day. So, thinking about what you share can be a good idea, although with Uranus on the degree, that could prove to be somewhat of a challenge.

Also, getting to know others without the need for the 'sexual buzz' can prove to be interesting with Uranus here.

We are growing serious, and let me tell you, that's the next step to being dull. Joseph Addison

Keywords: The need to loosen up emotional blockages. The struggle to hold onto one’s original identity. Compromise because of social expectations. Meditations that communicate. Exclusive relationships. Relationships that have a quiet “knowing”. Dignified silence. Inner withdrawal. Communicating through body language.

The Caution: Emotional isolation. Refusing to accept relationship. Pretending to be someone that one is not. Disapproval of younger, more vital energies. Being fussy and judgmental. Chattering that is not conducive to growth or true relating. Gossip. Difficulty in communicating. Being shutoff, or shutdown. The loss of joy or spontaneity.

Neptune is on Pisces 8: A Girl Blowing A Bugle. The message of Neptune is quite opposite to the message of Uranus. Uranus on the Spinsters degree has quite a different 'ring' to it than the girl on a bugle. It seems that it's a case of knowing when to sound off, particularly with the Sun on the Prima Donna degree, and when to keep one's own counsel. Certainly, there are things to make a noise about - it's just juggling when to and when not to that can be a dilemma. Sometimes we're just 'peeing into the wind' when we're blowing a bugle, especially if we're having a rant and no one is listening (or seems to be listening).

Keywords: Sounding the call. Awakening all to action. Going on and on about something. Loudspeakers, telephones, announcements. Being prepared to state
one’s case. Calling attention to one’s self. Blowing your own trumpet. Whistle blowers. Heralding and proclaiming the dawn. Rise and shine! Girls in a man’s
world. Leading the charge. Resurrection. Mass announcements. Advertising campaigns. Alarm clocks. Ear plugs. Blind folds. Proclamations.

The Caution: Making unwarranted and disturbing noise. Showing off. Unbalanced messages. Evangelists and politicians. Sounding the call but not making the grade. Being annoying. Trumpeting about one’s achievements. Not listening to people.

Pluto is on Capricorn 13: A Fire worshipper Meditates On The Ultimate Realities Of Existence. With Pluto here, we may be called to think about or delve into the meaning of existence. What is life all about? What is really important? Do we live in a hologram where it is all an illusion and none of it really matters? I guess that no matter how long or effectively we meditate on our navels, we still wake up the next morning to certain realities. Perhaps, however, Pluto here is asking for a rethink, a recalibration around what is important, what is real or what you're going to carry into the future with you.

We have become a generation of people who worship our work, who work at our play, and who play at our worship. Charles Swindoll

Keywords: Self-conquest. Kundalini energy. Playing with dangerous elements to reach a higher state of being. Philosophy. The stories of our lives. Examining life and its meaning. The buzz of being alive. Questions of our very existence. Finding the reasons behind everything. Contemplation and meditation. Incense. The hypnotic spell that fire can cast. Staring into the flames. Throwing oneself into the deep end. The search for core truths.

The Caution: Overestimation of personal power and abilities. Obsession to the point of self-obliteration. One-pointedness. Being intense. Going too deeply. Exhausting oneself trying to discover the meaning of life. Excluding family and friends because of philosophical or spiritual convictions. Not seeing the forest for the trees.

Chiron is on Pisces 18: In A Huge Tent, A Famous Revivalist Conducts His Meeting With A Spectacular Performance. This placement of Chiron seems to be asking who we listen to, who do we give our time to, who do we trust to deliver the 'right' messages? Some have their moment in the sun which lasts for five minutes, others are those who deserve to have their voices heard because of the power and authenticity of what they are conveying. Trusting your inner authority seems to be one of the key elements of Chiron here, along with letting others have their say without judgement or interference. This can be a hard thing to master, but it can be very instructive to listen to your inner voice for the critic when you're listening to someone who seems to be a bag of wind and not delivering the kind of message that you want to hear.

Keywords: Energy and inspiration. Evangelism. Whipped up emotions. Having a lot to say. Being instructional and dogmatic about how things should be. Being in charge. Ecstasy. Loud voices. Conversations that are said out loud. Acoustics affecting sounds. Evangelism. Preaching. Mind control. Performing. Political, religious and spiritual activism. Showmanship. Trans formative experiences. Captivated audiences. The media circus.

The Caution: Using spiritualism for greedy financial gain. Overblown feelings of one’s abilities. Big egos. Hysteria. People whipped-up and manipulated by those in charge. Having the agenda of controlling others. Feeling that one has all the answers. Getting het-up about ideals and beliefs. Manipulation and exploitation. Bigotry.

The Moon's north node is on Libra 25: The Sight Of An Autumn Leaf Brings To A Pilgrim The Sudden Revelation Of The Mystery Of Life And Death. Here, as with Pluto, we can see into the usually more hidden 'meaning of life'. Even in the smallest of events, things and situations, we can see life unfolding in front of us and make connections between meaningful moment and realisations. Getting a sense of what is really important and what is transitory seems to be the major message here, along with minding one's step whilst on the journey - are you journeying in your everyday life. The 'pilgrim' has a light step and sees what is around, even the tiniest of signs - he doesn't trudge as that would just crush the autumn leaves beneath his feet.

To see the world in a grain of sand, And a heaven in a wild flower; Hold infinity in the palm of your hand, And eternity in an hour. William Blake

Mars is squaring the Moon's nodes in this full Moon, bringing the possibility of seeing what ideals and relationships are worthwhile and which ones are bringing angst or perhaps discomfort or difficulty. Venus is trining the node, so it's seems that letting go of some things while accepting others is part of the game.

Keywords: Seasonal adjustments. Fleeting inspiration. Seeing things in their own time. Spiritual revelations. Conversations with God. Feeling blessed. The beauty and timelessness of nature. Contacts with nature spirits. Angelic visions. Photography and having a photographic mind. Being here now. Pilgrims and their journeys. The Hadj pilgrimage. Solving problems. Quick and deep minds. Snapshots in time.

The Caution: Focusing on things that have no lasting value or are no longer relevant. Looking for answers in everything, therefore missing out on the big picture that’s right in front of you. Making a big deal out of insignificant or everyday occurrences.

All full Moons are powerful, but I do believe that this one will be a particularly meaningful one. We are finding a balance between being self-sufficient and working with others, between being our authentic selves and seeing the world for the great big stage full of drama that it really is.

I wish everyone a fun filled and happy full Moon - Capricorn Moons can be a bit too serious, but they can also be times where we see through the garbage and find the humor in amongst it all.
