A golden key will open every lock. Yiddish Proverb

October's full Moon occurs on the 27th, and, it brings a promise of breakthrough, especially if we are mindful of what is going on in our lives and how we can make our lives more rewarding and fulfilling. It pays, as always, to be mindful of the things that truly matter. With this full Moon, we have a big dollop of discerning what is important and what isn't. This is largely because of the Venus, Mars and Jupiter conjunction in Virgo, giving us the possibility, or the imperative, of being able to bring into reality the things that are truly real, or truly healing.

In general, this period brings up the need for assessing relationships and how we are faring in that realm of our lives. Also highlighted are issues to do with health and our daily habits. With Mercury opposite Uranus in the lead-up to this full Moon, we are being given the opportunity to take a good look at reality versus fiction, to get a grasp on insights that illuminate the often hidden corners of our psyche, leading to a better sense of what is possible for us now. With the Moon's north node on the Super Galactic Center, we are being pushed to see where we are 'stuck' - pinned to thoughts, emotions, habits, realities, etc, that no longer serve us. It is through observing that sense of stuckness that we can free ourselves now.

We may have to let go of those things that have held us pinned, especially if there any grieving for the past. This is about pulling the plug on those feelings so we can be more authentically ourselves.

The full Moon is on Taurus 4: THE POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW

This Symbol speaks about connecting your inner thoughts with your rational conscious mind so you can communicate the feelings you wish to share. Like the ‘Rainbow’, this is not really about the elusive ‘Pot of Gold’ at its end, but rather it speaks of the wonder the rainbow creates as it links heaven and earth. Rewards will come from creative efforts built on talent and application. Good things sometimes just fall out of nowhere.

Keywords: The promise of riches, in whatever forms these may take. Creative imagination. Goals and ambitions. Alchemy. Splashes of color. Rewards contained. The search for the treasure. Seeking communion with nature and life's bounty. Wealth derived from changing perspective. Talent and beauty. Fantasies. Illusions vs. reality. Fairylands. A golden key will open every lock. Yiddish Proverb

The Caution: Seeking easy, tempting solutions. Thinking that rewards are always just "over the horizon". Thinking that one is never going to get near "it". Elusive success. Forgetting the more immediate things in life. Seeking perfection. Castles in the air. Pipe dreams. Fool's paradise. Every absurdity has a champion to defend it. Oliver Goldsmith

A full Moon symbolizes: The full Moon each month marks a time of heightened energies and events. It often marks the culmination of the energies released at the new Moon. Emotions can be supercharged as the Sun and Moon are on opposite sides of the zodiac and illumination is increased - it's like we can see in the dark - and we can be hyper-aware as well as being hyper-awake. The effects of a full Moon can be major or minor, depending on how they interact with your own chart. Sometimes, realisations or events that are unleashed, or unlocked, can stretch their meaning months into the future. A lot can be learned at the time of the full Moon and whether it's lunacy or illumination, or a combination of both, there's magic unleashed with every full Moon.

At times you may feel the need to get out into the open air or spend time with others or get in touch with your emotions. It often shows up in situations where intuition or clairvoyant energies abound, but it can also show immature, inquisitive energies that want to delve in deeply or to know about everything. The “Ouija Board” is a tool that gives assistance to focus on messages coming through. Of course, many different tools are available in the form of tarot cards, I Ching coins, etc. Youthful attempts at using these energies to discover the deeper meanings of life can bring surprising results. There is a need to cooperate and play by the rules of the game to achieve your goals. Friends and those with similar interests will be able to join with you to achieve a mutually desired end. Are people hogging the ball, not passing it on to others? If so, that won't secure a ‘win’ for you or for the team. How would a referee call that?

This Symbol shows the fun and delight that can come from observing and being a part of nature. There often needs to be a primitive, yet childlike response to situations. Facing the baser instincts of oneself and others brings a fresh, new approach to life. Building cages and fences keeps others from being able to relate in a carefree way. Separations can come from seeing others as being different or apart. Seeing the common factors that unite us can be very informative about our own emotions, as well as our shortcomings. The “Child” needs the “Encouragement” of “Parents” in order to feel supported or guided. At times, you are likely to fulfill the roles of child or parent to others. You may be moving into new phases of learning that, despite all your previous experience, are surprisingly difficult. If you find that you are being too hard on yourself, this Symbol implies that you need to know when to stop, rest and recuperate. Regardless of how much one has to do, it's no crime to stop to regain your strength. You needn't sacrifice your opportunity to rest for someone else. When situations get bogged down in emotional or rational complexity and everyone just needs to be rallying and going for the objective, you may be the one to let everyone know. This Symbol shows learning from the past, seeing the beauty and meaning inherent in ancient civilizations, their monuments and cultures. Some things never fade; they stand as reminders of ancient eras, bringing messages to us. Information and revelations may be found in these reminders (the “Remains”) about the stability and longevity of the foundation of your society, or possibly some other society, distant in time or space. You’ll find satisfaction in things that are not so much superficial display, but those things that represent the longevity and stability of the foundation or backdrop of your society. Seeing through false intentions or messages could be one of your objectives now. You may need to organize and stage a display to promote, teach or disseminate, bringing a feeling of community in a common goal. With the power to influence or sway groups of people, there needs to be a feeling of moderation and the ability to listen as well as speak. This can, however, picture situations of hysteria or overstating one's case. Is the audience listening? Is the cause just?

symbols_north_node.jpg The Moon's North Node is on Libra 1: A BUTTERFLY PRESERVED AND MADE PERFECT WITH A DART THROUGH IT

This Symbol implies something vital and beautiful being “Preserved” so the passing of time doesn’t age, decay or destroy it. Beauty in shape or form has been frozen in one moment denying the natural process of decay. An archetypal death is symbolized; a perfection through sacrifice. As inspiring as this process can be, this can bring difficulties in moving on or changing situations. People can feel stuck, like they have no choice, can’t move forward are trapped or are being used for something that they don’t agree with. However, this does bring some wonderful rewards with longevity and a sense of something eternally good attached to it.

Keywords: Perfection and beauty made immortal. Holding onto things or events from the past. Unchanging realities. Moments frozen in time. Superficiality. External beauty that's lacking animation. Pinning things up so they can be admired. The "handiwork" of creation on display. Transfiguration. Suspension in time. Posters.

The Caution: Impinging others' growth for selfish needs. Surrender and immobilization. Pinned down and unable to move. The attempt to freeze things from growing naturally. Placing importance on preserving appearances at the expense of all else. Staying far too long. Seeing no future. Having no past. Not letting go.

The Moon's North Node symbolizes: This is known as quite a 'karmic point' (although all planets and points in a chart can be'karmic'). One's destiny in this life. The things you are meant to integrate, move towards, become. Destined relationships and relationship issues can show up here.

symbols_south_node.jpg The Moon's South Node is on Aries 1: A WOMAN HAS RISEN OUT OF THE OCEAN, A SEAL IS EMBRACING HER

This degree is the beginning of the zodiac where the old gets left behind and a new understanding and awareness comes to light. Something new is emerging and it needs to be welcomed and nurtured. This is the beginning of a whole new impulse, creative and responsive. There's an emergence of a whole new potentiality. The Moon's South Node symbolizes: Past karmic patterns to be overcome, can be habits that are good, but can describe things, relationships, issues that you need to let go of, or, hold you back from manifesting your true destiny. Relationships that feel karmic and difficult, memories from the past.
