The rash of terrorism around the globe is a problem of highest concern. The attacks in Paris and Brussels make it seem as if we are not safe anywhere. Any sane person has to wonder, “What is our world coming to?” How, then, do we deal with terrorists? How do we get rid of angry, insane people who hurt others? How do we stay safe in a world so filled with danger?
In a classic scene in The Graduate, young Ben is at his college graduation party when a friend of his parents takes him aside and earnestly whispers, “Plastics.” That industry will be the next rage, the fellow hints, and if Ben is smart he’ll get in on the ground floor. Fast forward to 2012. A young acupuncturist phones my Hay House Radio show, Get Real, and confesses her fear that she will not be able to earn enough money to provide for her family, including her little child. I whisper to her, “Transformational services” and leave a pregnant pause for the message to sink in.
“Miracles and well-being are our natural state, given freely forever. Only the human mind lays limits over the good available to us. It is not God’s grace we need to beg for. It is our own. And we don’t need to beg. We just need to claim it.”
