It is Winter Solstice and while we know the days will begin getting longer, that the sun is returning…we also know that it is a slow process. It is the first day of winter and so we must make peace with the dark cold days of the season.

Community of Crows came to visit me and my family. Thousands upon thousands flew by my window. It was like the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz – an endless stream of black creatures.
It was a Sunday afternoon and I needed some quiet time in nature. The best and closest place I could find was a school playground. I gave in to the shade of a tree, sat down and closed my eyes. Only a block away traffic roared and all around me people were busy with Sunday yard work.
Today I went outside to see what was happening with the ducks here at our neighborhood pond. Looking for a sign of what is really going on in my life behind the scenes, I came around the corner anxious to see what the ducks were up to today.
I was standing in waist deep, crystal clear, warm water and I was afraid to dive in. I wanted to experience swimming in the warm, beautiful Gulf waters. But I was afraid.
I admire Walt. He was a visionary who followed up his dreams with action. He created a place where families could come together, where parents would unwind and put behind their day to day troubles, and actually play with their children, as if they were children again.
