March looks set to be a month for taking some big deep breaths and re-affirming our connection to life. We so often take life for granted, ticking along and along until one day we don’t tick anymore. It is usually only when something trips us up that we shift our focus and realise just how precious and fragile life truly is.
Love conquering all is not a new concept, but so many push it away as ‘new age namby-pampy’ because life isn’t all sweetness and light. That’s true, of course, but embracing love does not mean covering over the cracks of life nor does it mean forgetting about our troubles and our fears.
There have been times of my life when I've felt as though I've been moving backwards when everyone - and everything - else has been moving forwards. Occasionally I've been lucky enough to stop to reassess myself and my life, but the world has continued to shift in ways that have felt counter-intuitive to me.
At the current time though, there is a very tangible ‘gap’ in the chatter, and many of us have become deeply aware of this. As a result, so many are feeling this within and this is creating unrest and uncertainty, for such a gap gives each of us time to face the Truth of our Selves.
In truth, I’d never really acknowledged just how challenging it would be for me to put my struggles down in writing and then share them openly and wholeheartedly with others. I had no idea how it would feel to become completely vulnerable and transparent leaving myself nowhere left to hide.
It’s quite hard at the moment to step back and look at the world without feeling a sense of despair at the chaos all around. So much doesn’t make sense and the clashing of actions, choices and opinions of others seem to have reached fever pitch.
It’s hard to believe we’re already in February! The festive period feels like it was only yesterday, but the daffodils are already bursting up into the sunlight waiting for their opportunity to carpet the landscape vibrant hues of yellow.
As we continue to excavate and dig deeply within, it seems that many of us have found ourselves in unfamiliar territory as we have opened up our minds, bodies and souls to the Truth of the closets, the nooks and the crannies within.
