2020 is set to be a watershed year offering many opportunities for change and recalibration. On considering the charts for this year I feel excitement about what could be, whilst being mindful of the fact that what will be is largely up to us!
The moon is new in the 5th degree of Scorpio at 3:40 a.m. UT on 28th October. This moon marks an opportunity to stop and take stock, turn within and ask some probing questions about what’s really going on in the places we most struggle in our lives.
In the final week of April 2019, first Pluto and then Saturn turned retrograde in Capricorn. Doing so at this point dictates that when they finally form their conjunction in January 2020 it happens only once rather than several times across the course of a few months.
This Full Moon in Aquarius is poised to blow some old beliefs out of the water. With its ruler, Uranus, having turned retrograde on 11th August and now squaring Mercury, it illuminates how our mind works and the power it holds.
With Mars now journeying through Libra and Mercury preparing to turn retrograde in Scorpio at the month end, relationships may be up in the air, challenging us to greater clarity of communication and more penetrating honesty.
When so many shifts coincide with the start of an eclipse season we know this will be an energetically significant few weeks. It may help to think of energy as encoded wisdom: a particular resonance or vibration with the potential to recalibrate our understanding of life in general and/or specific situations in particular.
This new moon alerts us to something we’ve overlooked. It may be that we’ve lost touch with an inner knowing that’s been trying to course-correct us for a while now. Or we may have missed an opportunity to recalibrate a significant relationship and move things in a more constructive direction.
2015 is characterised by an energy markedly different to the ‘norm’ of the past three years. The Uranus/Pluto square which began in 2012 comes to a close in 2015, having made its presence unremittingly felt by so many of us.
