We may find ourselves ending the month in a state of restlessness, approaching a New Moon (4th/5th October) which requires introspection and quietude, whilst being painfully aware of all manner of things demanding our attention.
This powerful and fiery New Moon occurs at 9:36 a.m. GMT. Aligned with both Venus and Mars, it speaks of the balance, inspiration, insight and faith necessary for new beginnings to produce successful results.
This Taurus full moon occurs at the end of the eclipse season to bring about closure on the past month which has seen a number of very intense astrological configurations and a powerful taste of what’s to come in 2014.
Mercury stations retrograde at 1:44 am on 19th May GMT, and remains in its own sign, Gemini, throughout its retrograde passage. Practically speaking, this is an inquisitive Mercury, seeking information and answers, reviewing events of the past three months, wondering about relationships and connections with others and generally taking stock and sorting through unfinished business.
Against the backdrop of what is now two Grand Trines in Water, continuing the opportunity to process emotions that have built up in recent days (see yesterday’s update for more info on that), today the Moon also forms a T Square with Uranus and Pluto.
The Moon is now in Aquarius, preparing to meet its Blue Moon degree at 1:46 a.m. 21st August (GMT). These are the final preparations for this unusual Full Moon which augurs a purging of things we must no longer allow to define us.
Today’s Taurus Moon helps us further ground the new energies that have been flooding in since the end of May. This is particularly good timing due to the current potential for distraction. That said, if you can afford to be distracted today then go with it.
