Face Your Dust - It Will Set You Free

It is an energetic fact of life that whenever we commit to a new intention everything within us that is not in alignment with that new intention comes up. It comes up because it is responding to our intention. It comes up so that we can acknowledge it, address it, learn anything we are yet to learn from it, and finally transform or release it. Our new intention can thus manifest without any self-sabotage or blocks in the way. So this ‘coming up’ is a good thing, but as it comes up we can feel suffocated by the dust it is raising and this feels to us like a ‘bad’ thing.

On a personal level our new gratitude intentions suddenly have us confronting a barrage of unexpected bills and a head full of fearful, lack-oriented thoughts. Our commitment to deeper acceptance brings up a wealth of anger and resentment that has been simmering under the surface for years. Our decision to look for meaningful work is met by the offer of a promotion at our current job and our resolution to open up to our soulmate often invites phone calls from ex’s. Our desire for more creativity and passion triggers a bout of self-doubt and depression.

This ‘dust’ that has been raised is often misinterpreted by people as ‘My intentions aren’t working! Everything is as bad as ever if not worse!’ Meanwhile our energy must feel very frustrated, because here it is thinking it is helping us in the greatest way possible and we are feeling like it is sabotaging us or ignoring us!

Our energy helps us by shining a spotlight into every nook and cranny of our being in direct response to our new intentions. It highlights and magnifies every belief, every thought pattern, every past experience, every cellular memory and every personality aspect that is connected to our new intention including the ways in which those parts of us are working against our new intention. This spotlight is showing us: Look, this is what you believe, this is how you think, this is the part of you that has been creating that old reality, and here is the part of you that needs to awaken if you want to create a different, new reality. Our energy holds up mirrors in front of us: Look, this is how you see yourself, this is how you feel about yourself, this is what you believe you are worth, this is what you’ve been attracting and here is why.

This process happens to us individually, and it is happening right now very intensely on a collective level. As a society we are being called to a higher level of intentions regarding how we want our world to look and feel. Thus, we are being confronted with all the many ways in which the systems in our world are working against those intentions. On the surface, a time of great transformation looks and feels like we are standing in the middle of a building that is coming down around us, choking us with dust. When we look and feel from a space of greater consciousness we know that this ‘dust’ is a good thing, a positive sign that the old is leaving and the new is awakening and rising up.

If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you. If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you. - Gospel of Thomas

Living in a more conscious way as an individual, and as a society, takes strength and courage. It takes strength and courage because the truths that get revealed as part of the process are often easier in the short term to keep looking away from. However in the long term that which we choose to continue to deny and ignore has the ability to make us sick or feel trapped in a reality of unfulfilled potential. On the other hand, that which we bravely choose to confront holds the keys to help catapult us into a new way of living and being.

Pay attention right now to what is calling for your attention. As our intentions come from a higher place, all that is not in alignment will feel louder, heavier and harder to bear until confronted. You can be sure that whatever is feeling ‘loud’ and ‘heavy’ to you right now is the ‘dust’ you need to see, dust that is a direct response to the intentions you have put out, or played a part in putting out together with the collective. Don’t dismiss the dust or ignore it or let it suffocate you into submission. Ask it what it is wanting to tell you? What thoughts is it asking you to shift? What emotions is it asking you to feel? What actions is it asking you to take? What truths is it wanting you to face? What intentions is it asking you to remember and re-commit to? Bless the dust, because the dust is showing you truth and – yes I have to go there – the truth will set you free. The truth will set us all free.

Oh Dana, Thank You, yet again!

Bang on, as usual.

When I was younger, I always confronted the dust. As I got older I took the path of looking away, compliant to all, to a fault.

In doing so, I forgot who I was.

I gave my power away, on a regular basis, just to 'keep the peace'. Big mistake. While on an in depth soul searching mission I discovered a great sadness, that I couldn't put a finger on. It felt like a bottomless pit of sadness.

Then, last week, while on the telephone with my Sister, through the conversation emerged the reason of the deep sadness. In trying to 'keep the peace' I not only forgot who I was, I realized a dangerous depletion of my own power in doing so, and the dust that had piled up . . . my goodness.

When you stand in your own Truth, and face the dust head on, not only is it truly Empowering, Liberating, it blows the dust off the map. I am beginning to feel like my old self again, more like when I was younger, I am remembering who I really am, warts and all. I am the only person I need to impress!

And it feels so good!

Love and Light to All,
NM : ))

Dust to dust, face what you must. But out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The truth that shall set you free is not separate from you, and awaits to be an expression of your heart now. Face the dust if you must, but it is in no way a prerequisite anymore, (nor was it ever). Do not stare at it too long, unless you want more. For the light in your heart, no matter how small you deem it, does itself become more dust, if "left unexpressed". Expression given to that flicker increases the light and is the antidote to becoming absorbed in the dust process. Dust to dust, light to light. Bring forth that which is within you that is true. The dust is "beside the point". The "Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head." "If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you".

I just want to also acknowledge that I know what you are really saying here, but I couldn't fit it in one box.

You said, "It comes up so that we can acknowledge it, address it, learn anything we are yet to learn from it, and finally transform or release it." This is it. An we don't stop there and keep giving it more power. We release for a purpose to "...bring forth what is within you".

Thank you for the timely message. I had major dust storms yesterday at work (in education). It is difficult being in new energy (daily upgrading)with 'self', and master the pathways of the dense/lower energy of people and establishments, sometimes. Very tiring, literally. A daily fortification of boundaries, groundedness and sovereignty--I shine my light as best I can, continue to learn the difference of mine and other people's 'stuff' (sometimes, for me the hard way :( ). 'Ask, and it is given'...

Hi Dana & fellow commentators,

"On the surface, a time of great transformation looks and feels like we are standing in the middle of a building that is coming down around us, choking us with dust."

I've been choking on the dust for a while now, soo frustrating. Just when I think I'm getting closer to being free, another cloud of dust comes up, making me feel I'm not doing enough. I feel drained of energy, vaguely tempted to give up although that's not an option. I figure I've come this far, I can do the rest! But, pleeease let me feel/notice I'm going in the right direction....! Every little window of positivity is appreciated :o

Love & Hugs to all fellow dust bunnies,

Dana, your article sounds right on target. I've got some pretty good dust storms going on.

And, Zorro, your first comments also sound right on target (your follow-up, as well). What we focus on is what we manifest, and focusing on the energies of light raises our light quotient beyond the density of the dust.

The odd thing is, it feels okay and relatively easy to accept both apparently contradictory "truths".

I know what you mean. I think what we are witnessing is that we represent many streams of consciousness, with many tributaries each, converging without humanly contrived resistances into a larger stream of thought, and thus creating through a combined collective consciousness. Thankfully, we are emerging out of attachment to "freeze-framed" concepts which, in truth, are constantly changing anyway. We are identifying with, and being participants in a cosmic creative flow together.

Yes, indeed. Beautifully synthesized.

Great Article, Thanks ever-so-much for sharing this! You have verbalized this phase so eloquently!

Lately, I've been feeling a slight conundrum as I face a dichotomy when dialoguing with my soul. It has been revealed to me that our grief and anguish are not necessarily things to be transcended or evolved past- they are equally as nourishing, and... entertaining... to the Source, as much, if not more so, than our joys and such.

When you think deeply into this, it makes sense. The Source is not able to feel anguish without the separation effect the we can perpetuate, with our limited awareness. Source has no need or desire for us to all be transcendent and NOT feel negative emotions.

There is a paradigm which allows us to exist in both worlds, and feel all feelings, yet still remain in our awareness that this is all our creation. To learn to dwell in this paradigm is what we are doing right now. To synthesize both worlds is our ultimate destination.
